Changan Pakistan shows off upcoming Oshan X7 Plus SUV

Another day, another SUV news for Pakistanis. The latest news is that Changan Pakistan has rolled out the first unit of its upcoming Changan Oshan X7 Plus crossover SUV. The image was shared by Changan’s official social media handles and it shows a beautiful SUV being rolled down in a line off ceremony driven by none other than Master Motor’s CEO Danish Malik. There are also videos of the car at the unveiling event taken by the participants circulating the social media.

Changan Pakistan further stated on their Facebook page:

Disruption in Pakistan’s SUV Segment has begun..

Today the All-New Changan Oshan X7’s volume production has officially commenced at the state-of-the-art Master Changan Motors Ltd plant.

Changan Pakistan plans to produce the car before the official physical launch and booking are opened. It is a far better approach than what Honda has been doing by taking the bookings of the ‘mystery’ car before even showing it to the public officially.

If you have seen Oshan X7 before, all you need to know is that X7 Plus is a bigger and bulkier version of simple X7. The noteworthy thing about the X7 Plus is that is going to be the first car that will be exported from Pakistan to other countries with right-hand drive traffic.

The new SUV is going to be powered by the 1.5L turbocharged engine which is usually the case with most Chinese automakers at this time. Transmission will either be a CVT or a 7-speed DCT; chances are it is going to a DCT. You can expect all the fancy new stuff to be offered in the new Changan SUV that you usually get in these kind vehicles as well.

The SUV invasion of Pakistan: How it started…how it’s going!

The price of the new SUV is going to be a make or break factor for it. There is already so much competition with established names like Kia, Hyundai and MG, new-comers like Haval/BAIC, and upcoming entrants like Chery with its Tiggo SUVS. Changan will really have to be exceptional with its offering to actually disrupt the market, as they usually boast about themselves.
