Chery Pakistan is ready to officially unveil the Pakistan assembled Chery Tiggo 8 Pro crossover SUV tomorrow i.e., on 25th March 2022. It is going to be a digital launch, something what Honda Pakistan did for their new Civic 2022 as well.
There are already several photos of this new Chinese crossover SUV or CUV (crossover utility vehicle) at the Ghandhara Motor assembly plant in Sindh, as well as on freight trailers destined to Chery Pakistan’s showrooms across the country. Like Changan Pakistan, Ghandhara has also actually assembled the car first, and then will be taking the bookings of the vehicle instead of taking the bookings of the car first before even showing the vehicle to potential buyers.
The Tiggo 8 Pro is a 7-seater and comes with a 1.6L direct ignition turbocharged engine and a 7-speed DCT. You can expect most of the fancy and latest specs, features and creature comforts to be made available in the new car. The company will need to offer as much as possible while keeping the price of the vehicle competitive considering the tough competition in the market. Most immediate competitors of Tiggo 8 Pro include the all-new Changan Oshan, Kia Sorento, and even Toyota Fortuner. Besides these, there are plethora of 5-seater SUVs like Sportage, H6, Tucson, and HS to name a few.
At this point, Chery Pakistan will have to be extra careful with the pricing of the new car. There is already a pretty stiff competition and the company cannot take the risk of poorly pricing the car and hoping for the best. Roughly, the car should be around 6.5 million.
Industry insiders hinted that the booking of the new Chinese SUV will commence in a day or two after the official launch. It is yet to be seen whether the launch will include the smaller Tiggo 4 Pro or just the bigger model for now.
